Tactile Turn is quickly becoming one of my favorite pen brands.
This past week I finally picked up Tactile Turn‘s current seasonal release – The Fairway. It cost $150, but I think it was money well spent. In this article, I want to quickly review and talk about this phenomenal pen!

Tactile Turn Seasonal Releases
For those who don’t know, in 2020 Tactile Turn started doing these seasonal releases. These special releases feature unique designs and colors and are only available for a limited time.
The Fairway is available until 5/31/2022. But, like past seasonal releases you should be able to find some on the secondary market. But be warned that you will be paying more than the standard $150.
Some of the past releases are:
- Safety First
- Overlander
- Nautilus
- Stealth
- GT
Tactile Turn Fairway Details
The pen is made of titanium and has a great weight to it. It uses a side-click mechanism that is very fun to play with.
It comes in three sizes:
- Standard [5.8″]
- Short [5.3″]
- Mini [4.6″]
I opted for the Short because it takes a “Parker Style Refill”, and I really like Schmidt Easyflow 9000s (The Fairway comes with one).
The Package
Here is what came with The Fairway. The box the pen comes in is nothing special. The pen also comes with a commemorative card which is a nice added touch. It talks about the theme for The Fairway, and I believe it is made out of titanium as well.
Thoughts of The Fairway
I love this pen. I’ve been using it constantly since it arrived. I love the feel and the look. I have been showing it off to anyone I meet.
The one complaint I have is I worry about the durability of using the pen as my everyday pen. I’ve read on forums about the pen’s coating fading or chipping. There is already a tiny chip in my side click mechanism. I want to use it every day, but it has such a beautiful look I don’t want to ruin it.
